Straight Pattern

The straight pattern is the easiest to install. It requires only one set of tiles in one solid color. There is no rhyme or order of it all and no specific pattern that you have to follow. Although this is the easiest in some bathrooms it can look quite plain and boring. This is used with only the smaller square tiles.

Herringbone Pattern

The herringbone is similar to the straight pattern except that it uses the longer rectangular tiles. Still there is no specific order that these must go one making it quite easy to install them and very little room for error on your part. This is slightly more exciting than the straight because the tiles are larger.

Windmill Pattern

This pattern requires the use of two different tiles in tow distinct colors. The first tile must be rectangular and will be stationed around the smaller square pieces of another color. Approximately four of the larger tiles will surround the smaller one to create a pattern in the shape of a windmill. see also : Bathroom Décor Window Treatments

Offset Pattern

The offset pattern uses three different tiles preferably in three distinct colors. This requires the use of the smaller square tile, larger square tile, and larger rectangular tile. With this pattern you will be able to create your own unique look. Just make sure that you use it along the entire floor or it will look chaotic and out of sync.
