Kermit the Smoothie

Starting the Mizterbean.com blog only a few months ago it appears that I may have put on a few pounds and all in the name of research!! Being a bit of a health and fitness fanatic this has all come as a bit of a shock but has also led me to write a blog about some of the interesting drinks I am consuming for breakfast that I will call, Way To Healthy Smoothies.

Did I ever think I would blog about smoothies, the answer is no but I have shocked myself and they are surprisingly good and not a bad price when you compare it to toast, cereal, croissants, scones, roll and sausage… I spend approximately £11 on ingredients and that lasts me 5 days, not bad at all. see also : Miss Piggy Strawberry Smoothie Recipe
I read lots about healthy drinks and looked at various recipes but in the end decided to have a mess around with ingredients and see what happened, as you can imagine not all were a tasty treat.
The first successful one I like to call Kermit – low carb, protein, with lots of vitamins and lovely.

Kermit the Smoothie

1 large hand full of spinach leaves – raw
15 grapes – Green seedless
Fresh Lime – 1 Table spoon
Half a small Avocado
A couple of drops of Tobasco for the adventurous
3 Table spoons of fat free Greek yoghurt
1 peeled and cored pear
A thumb size of fresh ginger
5-6 fresh basil leaves
Easy to prepare, prepare the night before, takes less than 5 minutes, chop all the ingredients that need chopping (pear, avocado) and cover and put in the fridge – in the morning add all ingredients into the blender, add a little bit of water, blend for 40-50 seconds, pour, drink and enjoy. see also : Grover Smoothie recipe
I have worked out that this drink is approx 300 calories
I will add another to the blog next week.
